DaiPixel+ Clock privacy policy
Last updated October 31, 2026
What stays on your phone
Your clock settings, alarms, timers, world clocks, countdown and background photo are stored only in the app's private storage on your device. They are not uploaded anywhere, and the app turns off Android cloud backup and device-transfer copies of its data. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it.
When you pick a background photo, the app saves a re-encoded copy. Re-encoding removes hidden photo details such as GPS location. The app only receives the one photo you choose through Android's photo picker.
Optional features that use the internet
| Feature | What is sent, and to whom |
|---|---|
| Weather (off by default) | Your approximate coordinates, rounded to about 1 km, are sent to Open-Meteo to get the forecast, at most once an hour while a clock screen is showing. If you search for a place by name, that name is sent to Open-Meteo's place search. No account or identifier is sent. |
| Spotify wake-up music (optional) | The app talks only to the Spotify app on your phone, through Spotify's official App Remote kit, to start the song or playlist you chose. Your Spotify sign-in is handled entirely by Spotify. The app never sees your password and does not keep any Spotify token. |
| YouTube wake-up music (optional) | The alarm screen loads YouTube's official embedded player from youtube-nocookie.com to play the
video you chose. YouTube's own privacy policy applies to that player. |
| Other music apps (optional) | For Pandora, Apple Music, Amazon Music and similar, the app simply opens your link or search in that app and presses Play. That app's own privacy policy applies. |
Permissions and why they're used
- Approximate location (optional, asked only if you turn on "Set my area automatically"): to pick your weather area. Precise and background location are never requested.
- Calendar, read only (optional, asked only if you turn on the calendar line): to show your next event on the clock. Events are read on the phone and never sent anywhere.
- Notifications, exact alarms, full-screen alarms, run at startup, vibrate, keep awake, foreground service: so alarms and timers ring on time, show over the lock screen, and survive a restart.
- Internet: only for the optional weather and wake-up music features above.
The app does not request contacts, camera, microphone, storage, phone, SMS or precise location access.
Children
The app is a general-audience clock and alarm app. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
